How to pay your rent and service charges

It is very important to pay your rent and/or service charges on time and in line with your tenancy or lease agreement. We rely on this income to maintain our services and carry out improvements to your homes and estates.

There are various ways to pay your rent and service charges. You can choose one that suits you. Whichever method of payment you choose, remember that you are responsible for prompt payment of any charges due.

By Direct Debit

With direct debit we automatically collect payments from your bank account at regular intervals so you never need to worry about missing a payment.  allpay will be shown on your bank statement against your payment.

Telephone us on 0800 783 2399 for more information about setting up a Direct Debit mandate over the phone.

Remember, you will need to have a bank or building society account that accepts direct debits.

By standing order

A standing order can be arranged with your bank or building society to make a payment. A standing order form is signed by you, to instruct your bank to send money to us regularly.

Standing order forms can be obtained from our customer services team on 0800 783 2399.

Standing orders should be made payable to Metropolitan Housing Trust.

All you need is your own valid email address, your rent payment card and a debit or credit card.

Once on the allpay website, you will be asked to enter your payment card number, the long 19 digit code across the centre of the card. All first time users are asked to enter and confirm a password for added security and an email address at which the cardholder can receive payment confirmation.

The payment service accepts payments from debit or credit cards, but please remember that if you pay by credit card you may be charged interest which could make it more difficult for you to afford future payments. When you have completed the transaction, you will receive a confirmation email with a payment reference number.
