How to find the best insurance cover?
When looking for the right cover for your home contents, we recommend that you should:
1. Make a list of all the items and their costs to get a fair idea of how much you should be insuring your possessions for, as the insurance company may ask for the value.
2. Decide on the type of cover you need. For example, if you have young children, it may be wise to ask for accidental damage cover.
3. Take the time to shop around as the choice of insurers and cover is plentiful. Do not automatically assume the cheapest quote is going to be the best as you might not get the cover you need.
We strongly recommend that you take out contents insurance when you become an MHT London resident, but you can still join a scheme at any time during your tenancy with us. Please ask your local Housing Management Team for a leaflet.
