Home information packs - HIPs
The Government has announced that from 14 December 2007 Home Information Packs (HIPs) will be required for ALL properties being sold in England and Wales.
The introduction of HIPs by the Government is designed to make the home buying and selling process more consumer-friendly, quicker and easier to understand. By providing key information in advance, buyers will be able to make a more informed decision and avoid possible delays.
The pack includes an energy performance certificate, containing advice on how to cut carbon emissions and fuel bills. Also included are documents such as a sale statement, searches and evidence of title.
