Supporting a homework club for Kurdish/Turkish young people (118 young people are currently on the register). What did this do? Music training.
Women’s Basketball Team
Sevgi was interested in organising a community sport for other young people. With help from KATRE (Kurdish and Turkish Residents of England) and MHT North Thames, she attended a course on Community Sport Work. With her newly acquired skills, Sevgi recruited a coach and has set up a basketball team, where she and other young women train weekly.
